Farewell over pizza:)

So in my attempt to continue this blogging streak, I am posting another update. You won't easily find me posting much creative things like how to crochet a jersey(my mom is way better at that) or how to decorate your kitchen, but you may find some updates on some happenings in my life and sometimes some deep thoughts about the Heavenlies. There is however a recipe for cinnabons if you click on the tab 'Landi's Cinnabons' above :@)

So this week has been quite an interesting one. As I mentioned in my previous post, I might be a teacher or a high rolling business woman in Bahrain. Well I said this without any specific prospects present however now it seems the former might be a possibility! I wouldn't mind the latter either though. Just yesterday morning I was praying for a job and by the afternoon I had a potential offer. Imagine how much will happen if I just consciously start praying for things sooner(and not just things). It is as if God was just waiting for me to ask so that He can bless me. I believe God is like that. I believe that like any good Father He is just waiting to bless us however He will not bless us beyond what our character can handle just like any good father will not spoil their kids so that the "things" destroy the person they are becoming. God is the Bestest, yes BESTEST, Father anyone can have. Some of that I have heard from Bill Johnson before.

Moving along. As the title of my previous post says, this move will be big move number 5(not mumbo number 5- bad joke? I try) and last night my friend organised me a little farewell at one of my favourite pizza places (remember how I mentioned Bahrain doesn't have any good pizza places that compares to SA in one of my posts from 2010, well this place is the comparison), LOVE their sweet chilli chicken pizza. Here are some pics from the eve.

I'll be honest I don't like goodbyes; I am just realising how much I will miss everyone, but hopefully this wasnt goodbye for forever, I will see some of them again:)

The first photo is my dad pretending to sleep in my Lazy Susan. The second photo is literally my first sip of juice after a month. One thing that I hated the most during my time in ICU was having the ventilator down my throat to help me breathe. This was for several reasons. Firstly, with the ventilator in I could not talk so anything I communicate took a lot of strength which I did not have. Secondly, I could not drink or eat anything and felt thirsty constantly; yet when I dreamt of eating anything(which was often), I would wake up feeling very nauseous . This and nightmares made me scared of sleeping even though it was what I did most of the time. Thirdly, the nurses had to suction me a few times a day to remove all the flem from the tube and my lungs. This was especially horrible after they discovered the sepsis, because my abdomen had to be kept upon as they had to clean my abdomen every other day and could obviously not cut me open every other day and close me up again. The following I wrote 3 months ago but just remembered it again when I saw someone say to a friend "don't...because its sin". How hectic to put such law on people. The more I read the Bible, especially the New Testament, the more I wonder where all the denominations came up with all the rules that MUST be followed in order to be Holy?!? I read that “For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me”(Gal 2:19) So where do we come up with, “You must not do this, you must pray everyday, you must, you mustn't”??? “You have died with Christ, and HE has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of this world, such as 'Don't handle! Don't taste! Don't touch!'? Such Rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them. These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person

*"Winter" wonderland time*

So It seems thanksgiving is this Thursday which means its time to get the Christmas tree up. Now I don't actually celebrate thanksgiving but I use to LoVe it when our American friends would invite us over to celebrate their tradition. Sometimes we would have 2 thanksgivings, one in October and another in November celebrating with Canadians and Americans respectively.  Even our Bahraini neighbours are celebrating thanksgiving! But tomorrow is just another holiday for me since exams are over! So back to the Christmas tree. It feels like AGES ago that we have set up a Christmas tree in our house. I can't actually remember the last time, as I know we skipped a year or two. My family have never been big on all the decorations and presents that come with Christmas(only good times with family and friends) although I use to try and bring the Christmas cheer and encourage participation.
