Close to the Broken Hearted

Image
Psalm 34:18 says "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." I love this song by Hillsong called "Cry of the Broken" especially inlight of the verse above and because so many people are hurting and have experienced pain many more times than that which could ever be compared to a physical pain. And God's Word says that He is close to the broken hearted, to those crushed in spirit.

Evidence the Messiah is here

Matthew 11:2 2  Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples 3  and said to him, “Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?” 4  And Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John what you hear and see: 5  the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers   [1] are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them. 6  And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.” When the Kingdom comes "on earth as it is in heaven" this is what we must see, the blind receive sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear and the dead are raised up and the poor have good news preached to them. This is the evidence because in heaven there is no sickness or disease.   And Blessed is the one who is not offended by Jesus.

Love, Jesus

Yesterday at church Heinz, lead elder of my chuch, preached on God's love. He preached from Psalm 36. I don't know where to begin but it's like this is like a precious jewel, to be treasured. I almost feel like yesterday was just the beginning. When I went home I read from 1 John 4:7-21 God Is Love 7  Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God , and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8  Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9  In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10  In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11  Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12  No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. 13  By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given

requirement of Faith

I have been reading through Matthew lately and it amazes me how much Jesus brings up this thing of faith. In Hebrews 11:6 it says " and without Faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him." For us to draw near to God we must have faith in Jesus' work on the cross and that His blood shed, has appeased God's wrath. We must believe He died, that He was the Son of God, that His blood covers our sins, that God accepts Jesus' blood as payment when we approach God's throne and that He rose from the dead and overcame the grave.  In Hebrews 10:38 it says " but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him. But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve our souls." I believe that it is essential that when we approach God, He finds faith in us. That we believe that
