Job, blameless and upright

1:1  There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job, and that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil. 2  There were born to him seven sons and three daughters. 3  He possessed 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, and 500 female donkeys, and very many servants, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the east. 4  His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5  And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed   [1] God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually. Satan Allowed to Test Job 6  Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord , and Satan   [2] also cam

Faith of Canaanite Woman

This Story amazes me and I'm not sure if I understand it fully but going along the lines of not being offended by God or not blaming  Him or having a heart that is blameless towards Him: Matthew 15: 21  And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon.  22  And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.”  23  But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.”   24  He answered,  “ I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. ” 25  But she came and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.”  26  And he answered,  “ It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs .”   27  She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.”  28  Then Jesus answered her,  “O woman, great is your faith

Mistrust

This post is a continuation of my previous post, hence read the previous one first. So I am still studying that chapter of trust.. I am a slow study-er. This is not from the Bible but from my Business management textbook but still I thought "How true". It is talking about "What leads to mistrust": Firstly, miscommunication leads to mistrust when parties are not in regular contact. Amazing! In other words come into regular contact with your heavenly Father! Secondly, dispositional attributions, this is when a low-power person(us people, in this case) makes a dispositional attribution for what is really a situational case. A dispositional attribution is one that calls into question another person's character and intentions by citing them as the cause of behaviour or incident, whereas a situational disposition cites situational factors as the cause  of a behaviour or incident. How often do we blame God for things that are actually caused by the fact that we liv

Trust

Before you read this let me just say this, I wrote the below paragraphs about 2hours prior to what I'm writing now in between studying. Just now I started a new chapter in my studies of business management and it happens to be on trust. I'm in my second sentence and this is what it says: "Trust is an expression of confidence in another person or group of people that you will not be put at risk, harmed or injured by their actions." I thought its pretty cool in light of what has been on my mind. Funny how God even puts it in my studies.... I have a new favourite verse from 2 Chron 16:9 "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward Him." another version says " The eyes of the LORD run through the earth, to show himself strong for those who trust him". I could be wrong but the way I have come to see the word "blameless" in the first version is somet

Revealing God's Heart - Bill Johnson

I am dedicating an entire post to this preach of Bill Johnson only because I think it so relevant. I have been seriously wrestling with this thought of why bad things happen etc and what mindset are we to have towards these. Are we to merely accept everything or are we to live in this place of victory that even when  things go wrong, "God will work all things for the good of those who love Him" and that His ultimate will is that none perish but all come to salvation, even if thats not what we see in our lives today.I have come to believe that we cannot build our views of God on our circumstances, but rather we must base it on truth, on who He is, on what He has done for us, on the victory of the cross. It is not something that I at all feel I have complete knowledge of or even know if I will be able to understand fully, but I know this, that God will work it for good for those who love Him(Rom 8:28), that He wants us to have life and life to the full(Jh 10:10), that the fru
