Lessons in teaching

So I have been teaching 27 four-year olds for the last 4 weeks. It is absolutely incredible how fast time flies. Sunday is the first day of the week and I always wonder how I will have energy to last the whole week but before I know it, Thrusday afternoon is here and the week is past! It has been very challenging yet very much rewarding to teach the kids. I definitely wish now that I had done as I intended a few years ago and tried learning some Arabic, as there are a few kids in class whose English is slightly(or rather exceptionally) limited. I have raised my voice(or rather) shouted a bit more than I would like and I am still learning day by day what works best but i can definitely say that I look forward to seeing the 27 faces who have started saying "i love you miss" every now and again and my heart just melts. In teaching I have learnt a few lessons. Number one: Just like God's mercies are new every morning I should have new mercy for my children each day. Its cr

WOW

WOW that is all I can say about God's amazing faithfulness as I find actual words don't do Him justice. He has been so good to me. It amazes me how much He cares about me and look out for me and respond to me. As I was reminded yesterday when I watched my brother's video on faith "He is a Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" Heb 11:6. It is who He is. He cannot deny Himself. if we are unfaithful He will remain faithful. I feel that we(myself included) forget too often who He is and base our faith on what we hope He is and not on truly knowing who He is. He is the Restorer of the Broken, the Father to the Fatherless, the Saviour of the lost, the Healer of the sick. He is close to the broken-hearted. He is not easily angered. He does not hold our sins against us. His love is unfailing and it endures forever. He is our Refuge, our very present help in times of trouble. I know people always say we mustn't preach the prosperity Gospel but the truth is this G

This is my God

PSALM 103 Bless the  Lord , O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! 2  y Bless the  Lord , O my soul, and  z forget not all his benefits, 3  who  a forgives all your iniquity, who  b heals all your diseases, 4  who  c redeems your life from the pit, who  d crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, 5  who  e satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like  f the eagle's. 6  The  Lord  works  g righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. 7  He made known his  h ways to Moses, his  i acts to the people of Israel. 8  The  Lord  is  j merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. 9  k He will not always chide, nor will he  l keep his anger forever. 10  He does not deal with us  m according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. 11  For  n as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his  o steadfast love toward  p those who fear him; 12  as far as

How do we see God?

I have had a thought continually about this concept of how we see God. I, in no way, claim to have complete understanding or revelation on it but this is what I think. Often when something tragic happens in our lives, like a car accident or some horrible sickness is on a person, we think that God orchestrated it so that we can call out to Him and He can show His glory and maybe some don’t survive and other times some do and then we think that’s God’s avenue to show His greatness.  He created the universe He doesn’t need to create tragedy to show greatness but yet He will work tragedy for good! But now imagine a sci-fi movie. In this movie there is an all-powerful being, let’s call him Sparta(first name that came to mind) and this Sparta decides to show his power to his little beings so he comes and throws them into tragedy because he feels they are not giving him the attention  and love he deserves. So these little beings are miserable and suffering but Sparta’s plan is to save

So in my attempt to continue this blogging streak, I am posting another update. You won't easily find me posting much creative things like how to crochet a jersey(my mom is way better at that) or how to decorate your kitchen, but you may find some updates on some happenings in my life and sometimes some deep thoughts about the Heavenlies. There is however a recipe for cinnabons if you click on the tab 'Landi's Cinnabons' above :@) So this week has been quite an interesting one. As I mentioned in my previous post, I might be a teacher or a high rolling business woman in Bahrain. Well I said this without any specific prospects present however now it seems the former might be a possibility! I wouldn't mind the latter either though. Just yesterday morning I was praying for a job and by the afternoon I had a potential offer. Imagine how much will happen if I just consciously start praying for things sooner(and not just things). It is as if God was just waiting for me

"In Hope, against hope"

Romans 4:16-21 " 16  That is why it depends on faith,  in order that the promise may rest on grace and  be guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham,  who is the father of us all,   17  as it is written,  “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed,  who gives life to the dead and calls into existence  the things that do not exist. 18  In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told,  “So shall your offspring be.”   19  He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was  as good as dead (  since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered  the barrenness [ a ]  of Sarah's womb.   20  No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God,   21  fully convinced that  God was able to do what he had promised.&
